The sacred art forms shown below were drawn as murals on the walls of ancient temples in India. This art form is said to be inspired and created by the Divine and hence does not have the signature of the artist as the artist is but an instrument through whom the Divine flows. Each time a mural is complete, the whole community is invited into the temple for a large celebration and the master teacher ‘opens the eyes’ (paints) of the God/Goddess that has been transmitted on the wall. It is said that all the painters are then initiated into that lineage of divine artists. I am blessed to have been initiated in this art form.
